Japan has built the city and sports stadiums

for a wide range of athletes with all types of

disabilities as they have recognised there are many forms of disabilities.

They have made changes to the

bathrooms so people with limited vision,

wheel chair bound and hearing and limited

mobility can all use the same toilets.

A photo of tactile paving at a crosswalk.

Tokyo has placed these strips where there are hazards to help like stairs

and ramps to let the vision impaired people know it’s coming up.

Length

                      Meag LengtH

surinAlways use the same zero point

so we don’t get the length wrong.

               When converting between metric units:

Kilometres to Metres x 1000

                                                                                                 Metres to Centimetres x 100

                                      Centimetres to Millimetres x 10

Four careers that use the measurement of length:

Building - you need to measure the house and the walls so that the house will stand up.

Shoe Salesperson - you need to measure the length of a foot accurately so that the shoe fits your foot.

Clothes designer - you need to measure how big the top is so it can fit the person.

Carpet layer - you need to measure the carpet so it can fit in whatever room it’s going into

How to measure the length of an object - You need to get a ruler and measure the length of the object. When you have a ruler you need to put the zero line to the starting point of the object and then with the other end you need to see what number the end of the object is up to on the ruler

Sam's bmx writing

Sam’s BMX Writing Yesterday after school I went to the BMX track to meet my friends. Kade, Flynn, Charlie,Luken,Ariki and his brother Kahu. We did a few laps on the BMX track and Flynn fell off his bike and thought he broke his leg. We all brought our BMX bikes to do some jumps on the BMX ramps. The sun was shining when we did our jumps. We all did some jumps. We have to wear our helmets when we are on our BMX bikes. And here is a helmet.

What kind of journey has taken place?   Explain.
What was the purpose of this journey?
What challenges did the character face?
Baby bear went fishing
Walk. Outside to explore.
To catch some fish and to see if Baby Bear was big enough to go fishing.
Trying to catch the fish.  Another challenge was for Mama Bear to let baby bear go fishing in the first place!
Jolly Roger and the coconuts
They went on a row boat to the island.
The purpose was so that they could get some coconuts.
Climbing up the tree. One of the pirates was worried that his coat and boots would get very dirty.
A bird in the Classroom

A bird flew into the classroom and the bird had never been there before so it was a new place to explore.

It was by accident.

The bird didn’t know how to get out of the classroom.  It was too hard to pick up.

Sam Goes Riding
